( 你叫Chris Wong,以Dear editor作開首)
算係咁啦,駁論我覺得最多mistake..Dear Editor,
I am writing to explain my opinions on whether surfing the Internet is a waste of time.
It goes without saying that the twenty-first century is an information age. Computers and the Internet have become part of our life. Some people may think that we can do many things out of the Internet. I will explain my views in this passage.
Surfing the Net has become an essential part of many teenagers’ life. If you know how to select good websites, it would not be a waste of time. There are many benefits from surfing the Net.
First of all, as Web 2.0 technology has been arising these days, teenagers are no strangers to websites like YouTube, Wikipedia and weblogs. These websites create an interactive platform, where there are interactions among users. They can interact and share views of certain issues, and therefore gap between everyone is narrowed.
Also, we can meet more friends through the Net. In weblogs, users can release his or her views and interact with other users. Users with the same interest can chat together and discuss different issues. Also, as social networking sites, such as Facebook and Myspace, are gaining more and more popularity, social circle can be broadened and we can meet more new friends around the globe. One cannot deny that globalization requires us to acquire more knowledge around the world. Through these websites, we can know more about foreign culture.
Moreover, globalization requires us to know more about what the globe is going on. We can watch news reports and journalists comments about the world in the Internet. We can know local, international, financial, health information just by few clicks and there are advantages for the environment because it reduces the use of paper, which decrease the number of lumbering and deforestation. Unnecessary use of paper can be cut.
In addition, globalization requires a high level of international languages, such as English. There are lots of resources in the Internet for improving language uses. There are many websites to provide these kinds of services, such as Lang8.There services are getting more and more popular due to free-of-charge and mother-tongue languages users’ marking.
Some people may say that teenager might use site to engage in illegal activities, such as selling drugs and sex services. Moreover, there are teenagers that their relatives cut their Internet access harm or even try to kill their relatives. In my opinion, it hinges on the use of the Internet by the user. Internet can be your friend or enemy.
In a nutshell, if the use of the Internet is correct, surfing the Net will absolutely not be a waste of time, but a good use of time. If we are not addicted to it, Internet will always be your friend.
Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong
